Pay: Hourly, $15.00

Mandatory to work Program Hours: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Fridays 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (29 hours per week on average, occasionally will be asked to work events including APTT nights, etc. with minimum of two weeks notice)

As part-time staff, Afterschool Group Leaders are responsible for implementing daily enrichment lesson plans in the area of STEM, Literacy, Mathematics, and Physical Recreation. Afterschool Group Leaders are also responsible for homework assistance, tutoring and the daily tracking of student attendance as well as involvement in academic activities. Afterschool Group Leaders are an important part of a teaching team and are expected to work in conjunction with day-school teachers to provide activities that align with day-school objectives.

Must be creative, flexible, charismatic, take initiative, patient and must enjoy working with youth.

Must be able to meet deadlines and complete assigned duties

Must be able to pass a background check

Qualifications

1. Must be able to maintain a GPA of 2.5 or more if still enrolled in high school.

2. Experience working with children is preferred.

3. Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

Afterschool “Classroom”

1. Assist and implement a developmentally appropriate and inclusive program consistent with Dual Immersion Academy’s mission and vision for youth in an out-of-school environment.

2. Supervise and insure the safety and well being of the children at all times; remain alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group

3. Turn in lesson plans and material request on time

4. Keep classroom, storage room, bathrooms, and yard clean, orderly, and inviting

Training

1. Attend monthly DIA-X PLC meetings.

2. Attend local and national conferences as dictated by the Out-of-School Time Director

Other

Attend weekly staff check-in meetings on Friday

Be familiar with and follow Dual Immersion Academy’s policies contained in the Staff and Parent Manuals
