CURRICULUM

 The Utah Early Childhood Core Standards are taught in both Spanish and English through the application of DIA's 90:10 language immersion model. Students develop core concepts in Spanish while also practicing English language skills. DIA's preschool curriculum consists of six basic content areas:

  • Language Arts

  • Mathematical Literacy

  • Approaches to Learning and Science

  • Social-Emotional & Social Studies

  • Creative Arts

  • Physical Health & Safety

Weekly participation in art, music, and physical education programs offers students continuous skill development through participation in intentional, developmentally appropriate activities.

Second Step

Waterford Upstart

Waterford Upstart is an effective, proven online early learning program with engaging software for children and coaching for the adults who support them. Programs run over the summer or through the school year, and thanks to our generous supporters, there’s no cost to you!

DIA has partnered with Waterford Upstart as part of our curriculum to help our students prepare for kindergarten.

SCHEDULE

Preschool follows DIA's traditional school calendar and offers full-day instruction. Students attend:

Monday thru Thursday from 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Friday from 8:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Students are welcome to arrive when doors open at 7:45 a.m. Free breakfast is served fresh daily in the classroom.
